A golf lover’s delight Royal Deeside is famed for the aesthetic qualities of its golf courses and our own Loch of Aboyne Golf Course is no exception. Pine woodlands, a tranquil loch, a vista of granite topped mountains: there’s certainly plenty to please the golfer’s eye. Plenty of challenges lie in wait too. We’ve also added a first-class driving range, so you can work on that all-important long-game between rounds.

Or you may prefer to head straight for the 19th. Our loch-side Whisky Bar has a selection of over sixty malts and blends from some of Scotland’s most famous distilleries, we offer wines from the best vineyards in the world, and cocktails are our speciality. Alternatively, you may like to visit our Reflect Spa and enjoy a well deserved relaxing massage treatment. And you don’t have to worry about your clubs or wet-weather gear, because they can be taken care of in our sports equipment store and drying room while you’re relaxing. If you’re looking to play some of the famous courses to be found in Royal Deeside and the wider Scottish Highlands, then ‘The Lodge’ provides an excellent base.

We have a number of outstanding 18 hole courses on our doorstep, including Peterculter, Braemar, Ballater, Aboyne and Banchory, and some top-notch 9 hole courses too, including Tarland, Lumphanan, Torphins and Inchmarlo. Whilst some of the classic Scottish links courses, such as the Royal Aberdeen, Murcar Links, Newburgh-on-Ythan and Trump International are less than an hour’s drive away. Our exclusive Golfing Breaks allow you to spend your days testing your game against some of the finest courses in Royal Deeside and the Scottish Highlands, then spend your evenings enjoying the tranquil setting, luxury facilities and warm hospitality of ‘The Lodge’. The Pitch and Putt Course, 1155 yards, Par 27, Blue Tees with Optional Yellow Tees Par 29

We’ve had many requests to create a Par 3 course and here it is: the Pitch and Putt Plus. This course is ideal for beginners, for short game improvement, and for family and friends to simply enjoy a fun game of golf. There are no hazards to reach the fairways just a couple of island greens! so there’s no need to worry about holding ‘the pros’ up. Kittycat Scorecard.

Driving Range

Let’s be honest, we could all do with improving and perfecting our long-game. Our mobile four bay driving shelter, the first of its kind in Scotland, has a range which allows even the mightiest of hitters to flex their muscles. We provide top-quality golf balls too, so any shanks or slices will have to be put down to prevailing winds. The Loch of Aboyne Golf Course is open to non-residents and non-members.
