| Craigendinnie | |
| The First is an inviting opening hole designed to give a gentle introduction to the course. The tee is slightly elevated playing to a green that is drivable for the long hitters. A green side bunker protects the hole to an easy approach from the right. | |
| Mortlich | |
| The Second eases you into the character of the course. The tee is situated in the lowlands with a short 50 yard carry over the natural wetland habitat. The fairway is generous, but starts to rise slightly from 200 yards or so, ensuring you dont get too close to the green for an easy second shot. The green is set in an elevated position and is well guarded with mature oak trees and a pot bunker in front. | |
| Mount Keen | |
| On paper this looks like an easy hole, but the elevation ensures that anything short of a perfect tee shot could result in a bogey. Look out for the pin position and make sure you are not putting downhill! | |
| Durris | |
| You are probably ready for an easy one now. Played from the highest position on the course, the views to Durris and Clachnaben are absolutely stunning and you will be glad you made the effort. A mature spruce forest bounds the hole on the left with a dry stone dyke guarding the front of the green. 120 yards downhill is not far so beware the large crescent shaped bunker at the back. | |
| Clachnaben | |
| The first of the par 5's. Played downhill to a generous landing area. Long hitters may go for the green in two, but most will be happy to get close enough for a short pitch over the dry stone ditch which guards the green. A hidden bunker catches many a good looking approach shot on this hole! | |
| The Graveyard | |
| The Graveyard in more ways than one! The challenge of this hole, is get your tee shot over the pond and dry stone retaining wall that is an integral part of the green. Shades of Valderama and Wentworth on this one. Wayward shots are punished. | |
| Lochnagar | |
| The second par 5 may be less than 500 yards but it plays more like 600. The real Lochnagar is visible on a clear day. | |
| Aboyne Castle | |
| Its downhill from here! The long par 4 played from an elevated tee is an exellent long driving hole. The huge hogback green is the largest on the course, but the hardest to hit. Most golfers will be happy to get close enough, to get up and down in two for the par. | |
| Loch of Aboyne | |
| This is the signature hole that is played over the edge of the loch and access road, from a spectacular tee position. The position of the green utilises the natural contours of the land with two small pot bunkers build into its banks. It does not take much to get there, but the loch makes it very deceptive. | |
