September 2009 has seen the beginning of the construction and installation of a new Woodchip Boiler at the Lodge on the Loch of Aboyne. This Herz (Austrian) boiler uses the latest technology to provide all the heating and hot water requirements for the development and makes a valuable reduction to the emission of CO2 (Greenhouse Gas) in comparison to the burning of fossil fuels. We believe we are the first hospitality business in the North East of Scotland to install this type of system and also the first to be awarded a Grant from the Scottish Executive under the Scottish Rural Development Projects (SRDP) scheme. |
